Retrospective: Bring The Love Community Project

Bring The Love was a gathering of Traditional Indigenous Culture & Hip Hop Culture in effort to raise awareness and do self-care as a community. Bring The Love is a space to celebrate our community working together from Standing Rock to our Chicago Neighborhoods and beyond.

Native leaders and organizations in Chicago are working to divest the city from Banks Supporting DAPL.   The work is still on-going as organizers recently got an oder submitted to the City Council calling for Chicago to divest from banks funding DAPL sponsored by Alderman Carlos Rosa.  Organizers are working toward a vote this Fall 2017 on Order 2017-207.

This short film, created by Sensitive Visuals , recaps Bring The Love.

Artists from across the US & Canada came together to lift up our two local Indigenous youth groups (Chi-Nations Youth Council & International Indigenous Youth Council-Chicago Chapter).  We also partnered with DJ Trew & Christie Z to give a powerful collective performance of Indigenous Hip Hop at the 2017 DMC Chicago DJ Battle + US Supremacy and worked with Bgirl N’tegrity and Fellowship Fridays to provide workshops taught by Pandora, Quali-D & Artson.
